Community-Based
Care
Some AIDS orphans need assistance while they are
living with their extended families; this is Community-Based Care.
Eden Children’s Village provides food, medical care, clothing,
school fees, and school uniforms to provide stability for children-at-risk
who are in struggling extended family units. An African culture,
it is important to provide for the orphans of your children, or
of your brothers and sisters. This has become especially difficult
for families in the economic crisis in Zimbabwe. Many families cannot
cope financially or emotionally with several extra children in the
household.

Eden Children’s Village has a Community-Based
Care Coordinator on staff to monitor and assess each family’s
situation. Our Coordinator provides emotional and spiritual support
for these families, and counsels caregivers in coping skills and
maintaining healthy living conditions for the family unit. Relationships
are built for constructing a positive future for the children involved.
